The Holdup live at the Catalyst Club

Photographs by Dan Figueroa

On a warm friday night in March 2010, The Holdup, a bay area reggae-dub band, took the stage at the Catalyst Club in Santa Cruz, California. The Catalyst is a legendary music venue in Santa Cruz, who has hosted acts such as Nirvana, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Pearl Jam…

The Holdup hit #44 on iTunes “Top 100 Reggae Albums” and was listed in for six weeks. Hit songs such as "Wild Child" and “Good Times” have gotten tons of air-time recently-not to mention the No. 1 requested song on KSCU and KDVS.
From the local scene here in the San Francisco bay area, the Holdup are a reggae-dub band on DubRock records. DubRock records also has signed bands such as 880 South and Tha Fiends onto their label.
The Holdup has recently launched their west-coast tour and the night of the Catalyst show they took off for the next leg on their tour; Mexico.
